Microchip Implantation
The microchip is a small electronic device (the size of a grain of rice) that is quickly placed under the skin of the neck. It is required by law, hurts no more than a vaccine, and is the only definitive way to prove you are their legal guardian and be able to recover them if they are lost.
Official Registration with RIVIA
During the same visit, I collect your details and those of your pet to register them in the official database of the Valencian Community.
Issuance of the European Passport
We process the official blue document, which is mandatory for travel by plane or road both within and outside the European Union. From this moment on, this passport will become the definitive legal record where I will certify all your pet’s official vaccinations and deworming treatments.
Other RIVIA Procedures
Changes of legal ownership, registration of microchips from databases other than RIVIA, official removal from the microchip registry due to death, or transfer to another region.
LO QUE DEBES SABER
Información clave
Why is it better to do it at home?
Maximum peace of mind for puppies: Microchipping is usually done in the early stages of life. Doing it at home avoids exposing your puppy (who does not yet have all their vaccinations) to viruses in a waiting room full of other animals.
A quick process with no paperwork for you: You only need to have your ID ready; I take care of filling out the official forms, processing the digital registration, and delivering the completed documentation to you.

Preguntas Frecuentes
Is it mandatory to identify my dog, cat, or ferret with a microchip?
Yes, microchip identification is mandatory by law for dogs, cats, and ferrets in the Valencian Community. It is the only legal and definitive way to prove you are their owner and be able to recover them quickly if they are lost or go missing.
Does microchip placement hurt?
The microchip is a small electronic device the size of a grain of rice that is implanted under the skin of the neck. It is a very quick procedure that hurts no more than a standard vaccine. By performing it at home, the animal is calm and relaxed, so they hardly notice it.
What are the advantages of microchipping a puppy directly at home?
Puppies usually receive their microchip in the early stages of life, when they have not yet completed their vaccination schedule. Performing the implantation at home avoids exposing them to viruses or infectious agents present in a waiting room full of other animals.
What is the RIVIA registry and which procedures do you handle?
RIVIA is the official animal identification database of the Valencian Community. During the visit, I collect your personal data and those of your pet to manage the direct digital registration. I can also perform changes of legal ownership, registrations of microchips from other regions or countries, and removals from the registry due to death or relocation.
What is the European Passport for and when is it necessary to issue it?
The Official Pet Passport replaces the old health record book and is the essential official document for traveling by road or plane within and outside Europe. All vaccinations and deworming treatments are officially recorded in it.
What documentation should I have ready for the home visit?
You only need to have your valid DNI or NIE ready. I take care of filling out the official forms, managing the registration on the RIVIA platform, and handing over all the documentation in order.
