Preventive medicine
We care for your pet’s comprehensive health from the comfort of your living room
Preventive veterinary medicine is the fundamental pillar to ensure that animals enjoy a long, healthy, and happy life. Its goal is to avoid the onset of diseases or detect them in their initial phases, as early diagnosis and treatment improve quality of life and life expectancy.
You have surely experienced it: taking out the carrier, getting in the car, the nerves in the waiting room… For many dogs and cats, going to the vet is synonymous with fear.
That is why I bring my consultation directly to your home. The goal of preventive medicine is not to cure once a disease is present, but to create a protective shield so that your companion enjoys a long life full of well-being, in the place where they feel safest.
By eliminating the fear of transport and waiting rooms, I am able to evaluate your pet in a state of total calm, which allows me to obtain real clinical values and a much more accurate diagnosis.
My consultations are never rushed. We take the necessary time for your pet to adapt to me while we chat. I design each visit as a calm and thorough session, divided into these fundamental steps:
METODOLOGÍA DE LA VISITA
Pasos a seguir
Initial chat and observation
Before starting the medical check-up, I sit down to chat with you. You will tell me about their diet, digestion, energy levels, and if you have noticed any changes in their behavior. Meanwhile, I observe how they move naturally around the house.
Complete exam in their comfort zone
With your pet relaxed on the sofa or in their bed, I perform a complete examination:
- Heart and lungs: I listen to their heartbeat with a stethoscope. By being calm at home, their heart beats at a natural rhythm, allowing me to detect murmurs or other alterations in time.
- Mouth, eyes, and ears: I check their gums and teeth (tartar can cause serious infections) and ensure their eyes and ears are clean and healthy. I also check their nails, as they are a fundamental part of their health and hygiene; overly long nails can alter their gait, cause joint pain, or become ingrown.
- Palpation and joints: I gently feel their abdomen to check their organs and move their legs to ensure there is no hidden pain or early signs of osteoarthritis.
- Skin and coat: I look for any lumps, allergy issues, or the presence of parasites.
Weight control and body condition
I use a portable scale to weigh your companion. I evaluate their body condition because maintaining an ideal weight is the best way to prevent diseases such as diabetes or joint wear.
Personalized advice
An ideal space to resolve your doubts regarding nutrition, hygiene, or any other concerns. Behavioral counseling to prevent conduct issues, answer questions, or prepare for life changes (new pet, moving house, arrival of a baby, adoption, etc.).
Basic health services (Complete shield)
- Preventive check-ups adapted to every stage of the animal’s life, from puppies to geriatric patients. A timely review detects “silent problems” in the kidneys, liver, or heart long before your pet appears ill. I carry out prevention campaigns with blood tests adapted for geriatric patients, endocrine diseases, and annual screenings for infectious diseases (leishmaniasis, ehrlichiosis, rickettsia, heartworm).
- Tailored vaccines: Not all animals need the same thing. I use vaccination protocols based on their age, species, breed, and lifestyle to protect their health.
- Deworming: I help you choose the most appropriate treatments for your pet based on their age and lifestyle. Keeping “pests” away is fundamental for your pet’s health and to prevent common diseases in our area, such as mosquito-borne diseases (leishmaniasis, heartworm) and tick-borne diseases (ehrlichiosis, rickettsia). During this service, we ensure both fronts of protection are covered in a personalized way.
- External protection: Control and prevention of fleas, ticks, and mites using spot-on treatments, collars, or tablets.
- Internal protection: Periodic treatments to eliminate intestinal parasites or prevent heartworm.
At the end of the visit
I will provide you with a detailed report of everything reviewed and the guidelines to follow until our next appointment. Your peace of mind and their health come first!

Preguntas Frecuentes
How often should my pet have a preventive check-up?
It is recommended to perform at least one general check-up per year for healthy young and adult animals. In the case of puppies or senior pets (over 7 years old), it is advisable to perform more frequent check-ups (every 6 months) or specific blood tests to detect age-related pathologies early.
Is it possible to vaccinate and deworm my dog or cat directly at home?
Yes, absolutely. I perform the application of official vaccines and the administration of internal and external deworming treatments in your own home. By being relaxed in their environment, the experience for your pet is fast, calm, and stress-free.
Which vaccines are mandatory or recommended in this area?
In the Valencian Community, the rabies vaccine is mandatory by law. Additionally, I adapt the vaccination protocol according to the species, age, and lifestyle of your pet, including protection against key diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis, or feline distemper/calicivirus.
Why is preventive medicine so important if my pet seems healthy?
Many serious diseases (such as leishmaniasis, kidney or heart problems, or early osteoarthritis) do not show visible symptoms in their early stages. A routine check-up and timely blood tests allow us to act before pain appears or the disease progresses.
What are the advantages of having a preventive check-up at home versus at a clinic?
At home, we eliminate the fear of transport and the tension of the waiting room. By being calm on their sofa or bed, their vital signs (heart and respiratory rate) reflect real values unaffected by stress, allowing for a much more precise auscultation and examination.
What exactly does the preventive consultation include?
It includes a complete head-to-tail examination: heart and lung auscultation, examination of the mouth, eyes, and ears, skin and coat review, abdominal and joint palpation, weight control with a portable scale, nail trimming and basic hygiene if required, plus personalized advice on nutrition and habits.
